Noden contends that good writers “paint” stories rather than “tell” them. Noden provides excellent examples throughout his book. There sometimes seem to be two extremes of grammar.

Also, although I think these lessons would be great for a lot of visual learners, it is important to consider that not all of your students will be visual learners, and will need other ways presented to them to understand the concepts you are teaching.

He does not deny the existence of the traditional principles: I did not find as much use for this since I was teaching IB English 12, but I could see a good use for it in a creative writing class as well as other classes. Above all, this is both a practical and time-saving book.
