On Monday the 6th May members of Strathleven Artizans travelled from Renton, the home of King Robert The Bruce, to give their support to the Save the Whithorn Trust campaign. The Strathleven Artizans went on a days homage which started at St Ninians Chapel. St Ninian was King Robert The Bruce's favoured Saint, in the last months of King Robert The Bruce life he travelled over land to Whithorn and St Ninians. This journey took six weeks, King Robert lay for three days and three nights, prostrate in front of the High Altar, without eating or drinking. The Kings illness made him to weak for the overland journey home to Cardross (modern day Renton).
